Tunsen, also known as the Land of Chaos, was a lawless region with an extremely messy political landscape involving a multitude of major powers. It was known for its domestic production of magic tools made out of demonic creatures, which was also the reason why multiple countries sought to build up a presence there.

There were rumors that a god had once fallen in Tunsen, and the blood of the powerful being seeped into the land, dyeing the ground red. The extraordinarily high concentration of mana greatly increased the chances of animals residing in the region undergoing a mutation, leading to a proliferation of demonic creatures. Due to that, the region was deemed to be extremely dangerous and unsuitable for humans to live in.

Most who chose to live in Tunsen despite the risks were transcendents, especially heretics and evil cultists who were driven out of their homes. They made a living through hunting down demonic creatures and selling their parts, though the number of demonic creatures they were able to hunt tended to be severely limited. As the demonic beasts of the Land of Chaos are very powerful, these transcendents were considered to be powerful as well. These heretics do not want outsiders potentially infringing on their sanctuary.

The Sorofya House believes that it would be profitable to build a market around these demonic beasts and they were not the only ones. Typically, any noble that suggests expanding their influence to the Land of Chaos were considered lunatics.

The heretics and evil cultists living in the Land of Chaos form villages and are separated by their faith. From time to time, there are alliances and wars between them.

Rodney's Village[]

  • This village consisted of the descendants of the Strength Origin Attribute heretics that were originated from the ancient giants. It was said that their ancestors had once annexed the territories of the Theocracy with their overwhelming strength, only to be driven out due to an incident later on. Their ancestors then fled all the way to Tunsen and eventually laid their roots down there. Transcendents of the village have the Strength Origin Attribute.
  • The village worships Grandar as the ancient god of the Strength Origin Attribute. As such, those who had a stronger spiritual sense saw a vision when Roel was contracted with Grandar.
  • The Marta Merchant Association, an association that Rodney knew was led by evil cultists, found out about this magic tool and tried purchasing it at a lowered price. Someone had paid the Marta Merchant Association to find the Scale of the Snake God. Once the offer was rejected, they tried to snatch it by force. The village may be small and have a small population but each member of the village was a strong fighter.

Known Members[]

  • Rodney: Rodney is an Origin Level 3 heretic. He became the village chief after coming back to his homeland after sustaining a physical injury during his many years of adventuring. He found the Scale of the Snake God, an invaluable ancient magic tool with at least a thousand years of history behind it, three years ago (as of Chapter 108) and his village has been protecting it since then. Demonic beasts do not approach Rodney's village thanks to this magic tool and Rodney was elected as the village chief. His body heats up and steams as a cost for using his magic.
  • Wood: Wood, or Old Wood, used to be the village chief before he gave that position to Rodney. He led the villagers for many years before Rodney was even born. He is Origin Level 3 so he is strong enough to take care of a couple of Origin Level 4 evil cultists. Wood becomes senile as a cost of using his magic.
  • Kuri: A blue-haired young man with a dog.
