Carter Ascart is a marquess of the Saint Mesit Theocracy. Aside from serving as the Chief Magician of the Holy Knight Order, he is also the patriarch of the illustrious Ascart House. He is the father of Roel Ascart and Alicia Ascart.
Currently, he is working in the Logistics Department at Tark Stronghold after hearing news of activity of deviants.
Appearance and Personality[]
Carter is described to be handsome yet frail-looking middle-aged man. Around his neck, he wears a locket that has a portrait of Maria, his wife.
He dotes on Roel even though he (initially) had given up hope on him becoming a strong transcendent. He does not hit or scold Roel viewing it as a way to make up for Roel’s loss in maternal love. He becomes emotional from any affection from Roel such as when Roel had bought Carter a winter jacket.
Instead of arranged marriages, Carter preferred marriages done out of love and so supported both Alicia and Nora's love for Roel but was against Charlotte's marriage since it was a contract set long before their birth. Later, he accepts her as well.
Background[]
Carter was greatly influenced by his time in Brolne when he attended Saint Freya Academy. He met Chris as well as the woman that would become his wife in the future. His time in Brolne was also the reason he chose the Wisdom Attribute instead of the Theocracy's Compassion.
Powers and Abilities[]
Carter was strong enough to subdue a elephant-sized Bloodhorn Deer that casted strong spells from its antlers. The deer was described to be Origin Level 3.It was suggested that he did this easily. Roel judged that his father was at least Origin level 3. Later Alicia confirmed that his Origin Level was 2.
Carter was able to beat a member of the Bess House, likely the patriarch.
During his days in the Academy, he was able to reach the semi-finals in the Challenger Cup but lost his chance to win the cup then to a strong opponent. This made Carter very diligent and it became a source of motivation for his strength.
